Some highly anticipated titles will be making their way onto shop shelves this Friday. We’re in for a treat this week!
First up this week, something I have personally been looking forward to since Christmas time. Dragon’s Dogma is an open world fantasy adventure and will be arriving in stores in North America on 22nd May and will release internationally on 25th May. One of the game’s most popular features is its “Pawn” system. The player’s party members are controlled by the game’s A.I. and give out useful hints and strategies. Party members can even be used by your Xbox Live and Playstation Network friends to control and level up whilst you are offline. The demo that was released a few weeks back didn’t really show off much gameplay, which disappointed me a little. I won’t let that cloud my judgement when I play the full release however. Hidden gem? I think so.
Second up this week we have the next in the Dirt franchise. Dirt Showdown will be available for purchase internationally on May 25th and June 12th in North America. Gymkhana returns from Dirt 3 as well as destruction and hooligan game modes. Destruction is essentially a demolition derby style of race and the events will have players taking part in freestyle driving trials. There’s certainly going to be a lot to sink our teeth into in this one.
Last, and certainly not least, this week we finally see the arrival of Ghost Recon Future Soldier. This is probably one of the most anticipated games of the year so far and its easy to see why. Having been several years since the last Ghost Recon release, it looks like Ubisoft have really outdone themselves here. We’ve all seen the stunning visuals, breathtaking gameplay and, for some of us, even taken part in the multiplayer beta. Ghost Recon Future Soldier is going to be huge and will keep us entertained online and off, for many months to come. Ghost Recon Future Soldier air drops into stores on May 22nd in North America and on May 25th internationally.
Its going to be a busy week!
